Trying to run a 10k every weekend
I have written about my struggles with running ever since I moved to Tokyo. It was difficult for me to add running to my new schedule. I tried running in the morning and in the evening. But still, I skipped a lot more than usual. August and September were my worst months of running.
I have been trying to find a better way to fit running into my schedule. The new thing I am trying is to run 10km every single weekend. I realized that I skip more during the weekdays. I try my best but some weekdays it just doesn’t happen. Although some weekdays are not in my control, most weekends are in my control.
That is why I decided to try and run at least 10km every weekend. During the weekdays I try my best to stay consistent. But the 10km on the weekend needs to continue. Today was the second time this month. It was raining today. But I didn’t want to skip.
I had less confidence last week. But today I was confident. I knew my goal. I started my run. The first 2km were difficult. But as I ran, I had more belief. I kept going. I knew I had to get it done. The last 2km were tough too. But I finally made it!
