The GOAT debate, why it annoys me

Messi just won the world cup. Messi fans are happy. Argentina fans are happy. The majority of the football world is happy. But one set of fans who sounded a bit annoyed was Cristiano Ronaldo fans.
My newsfeed was filled with GOAT debates. Who is the GOAT? Personally, I feel it’s subjective. Every person has their own GOAT. End of debate. But still, people will fight over their own GOATS.
The recent arguments I have seen are about the Messi and Ronaldo goat debate. Some people claim the argument is over. Some people claim Messi is not the goat even after the world cup win. Some people claim Ronaldo was never in the goat debate. They are both in different categories.
Whatever the argument is, it’s very annoying. It ruins every good football post. Messi did everything to prove to his fans he is the goat. Ronaldo did everything to prove to his fans he is the goat. We are privileged to have been able to witness these two players in the same era. If you go by achievements then yes Messi should be the undisputed goat. If Ronaldo is the goat to you, that is fine too. But don’t go around disapproving of other people’s goats.
