The 1000km running challenge, near the finish line

1000km. That was the goal for the year. The challenge started off very smoothly. I completed 700km in 7 months. It was going better than expected. I never expected to be able to do 100km every month.
But then I moved to Tokyo. I started a new job. My routine changed. So did my runs. I had a bad few months. I fell off the pace. But after I got settled, I got back to running. I slowly picked up the distance.
Less than two weeks left. I have around 40km to do. It won’t be busy, but I will hopefully be able to go over the line.
I have been lucky to not have been injured over the past two years. I have been running regularly. I always say this, running changed my life. I have got so many benefits from this one habit.
I will keep on running in 2023. But I will definitely change the goals. 1000km was great but it was difficult to balance with other habits. I also want to do some more strength workouts and also swim. So I have to readjust my running goals. But first I need to complete the 1000km.
