Simple motivation hack (Blog 150!)

It was raining tonight. I just came back from work. Perfect time for a run. As I was enjoying my run in the rain, I was full of energy and good hormones. It reminded me of a video that always motivated me and gave me goosebumps. It’s a video from WWE about Daniel Bryans's underdog storyline. It has to be one of the best underdog storylines in WWE history. They used the song monster by Imagine Dragons and it fit perfectly. If you followed the story as a fan, you will know what I mean.

The video reminded me of an easy motivation hack. We all struggle with motivation. Although I do believe action comes first, then motivation helps you continue. But for many people, the initial motivation is very important.
If you are working towards a goal if you are making changes in your life look no further than your past for easy motivation. Remember the times you were doubted, remember the times you were told you couldn’t do it. Remember all the hate you got in the past. Those haters in the past are actually fuel at present. That fuel is your motivation. Every time I run it reminds me of this moment back in Bangladesh. Me and my friends were playing cricket. I wasn’t much of a player, I was just there to fill the required amount of players. I was probably the worst athlete in the field. I wasn’t sad about that. But I remember every time the ball used to go past me and I had to run, I was made fun of because of the way I ran and how slowly I ran. I was fat and unfit. It was natural for me to not be able to run. The people making a joke out of me weren’t my haters, they were actually my friends. I took it as a joke, no hard feelings. But that moment does come back to me every time I run. I am not mad at any of them, I am rather happy. Because every time I look back at that moment, I can see progress. I can see how better I am as a person and how I am proving my past wrong. That’s enough motivation for me to come out and run.
We all have these stories in our life. We all have people who doubt us. Just remember those moments and rather than feeling disheartened take those moments and harvest them. Harvest them and make them your easy source of motivation.
Thanks for reading the blog. It’s the 150th. Haven’t missed a day yet. It hasn’t been easy but I am having a lot of fun. The freedom of not having any audience is great too. Helps me write without thinking about who might come and judge my writing.
