How Argentina influenced me to watch cricket again

That is probably the most bizarre title I have written. But it has some truth to it.
Unless you are living under a rock, you already know that the Fifa World Cup has started. I already wrote a blog about the hype it has back in Bangladesh. One other unique thing about this hype is the support that Brazil and Argentina get in Bangladesh. Most of the country is divided between these two countries.
The support for Argentina back in Bangladesh has been there since Maradona. But back then there were no social media. International media didn’t know about this crazy support. But this world cup a lot of the media picked up the support Bangladeshis had for Argentina. This ended up going viral and eventually, people from Argentina heard about this craze in Bangladesh.
This crazy chain of events led to the opening of a Facebook group by the people of Argentina. In that group, the people of Argentina decided to give support back to Bangladesh. They started talking about cricket. Because cricket is a sport where Bangladesh is doing relatively better than other sports. They started conversations about the recent series with India.
Thanks to that conversation I decided to watch one of the games. Luckily that was one of the better games. Bangladesh won that game against India and ended up winning the series. It was a unique chain of events. The last time I watched cricket was back in 2015, just before moving to Japan. After seven long years thanks to Argentina fans I ended up watching a game of cricket.
