Why is Japan ready for Christmas at the end of October?

Japan is weird. Don’t get me wrong. I have been in the country for more than 7 years. But I still find some things weird. There are weird things in Japan. It doesn’t need to be a negative connotation.
One of the things that surprise me every year is how quickly Japan is ready for Christmas. As soon as it is the end of October the stores start changing from Halloween to Christmas. Christmas is almost two months away but that doesn’t stop Japan.
I tried to look for the reason. It might be a marketing thing. The end of the year is the time most people spend a lot of money. The earlier companies can get people in the mood, the better.
Other than this, I find no good reason for the quick Christmas theme. There’s no harm in doing it. I guess there are more people who enjoy it. I didn’t grow up with Christmas. Now I just sound all negative. This blog needs to go in the trash……
