Typhoon and holidays

Japan's public holidays and typhoons have a pretty toxic relationship. Every time there is a long public holiday there is a typhoon on the horizon. This silver week it was no different.
I faced this before last year during the Obon holidays. I was planning a week-long trip. Everything was ready except for the weather. As soon as the holiday’s camera around the typhoon came together. It was nonstop rain every single day of the holidays. The only day it didn’t rain was on the last day.
This time during silver week the same thing happened. I took a day leave to go back to Beppu. Only the day I arrived to Beppu was sunny. The rest of silver week it was crazy rain. I almost missed my flight back to Tokyo. I was lucky that the typhoon hit the day after my flight.
I didn’t have many plans this time since I checked the weather early. I feel bad for people who had plans. The typhoon hasn’t helped.
The holidays in Japan somehow fall during typhoon season. Nothing we can do.
