Trying intermittent fasting for the first time

Since 2019, I have been on a weight loss journey.
The first year was all about fixing my food addictions. I was addicted to Coca-Cola and Sugar. So I decided to quit both of them for a whole year. It was super difficult but it was one single thing I was focused on at that time. The next focus was exercise.
I started running in 2020. It was the best thing I ever did that had the most impact on my health. I kept on going and kept on reaping the benefits.
I started to eat healthier in 2021. This was the next step. After getting used to running, the goal was to eat healthier meals. I counted my calories for 170 days and finally found a good balance.
I lost around 25 kg. I was on the right path.
Then mid-2022 I moved to Tokyo. I tried maintaining my usual diet and exercise. But it has been a struggle. Due to the new job I have been eating outside a lot more than I usually did. I also haven’t run as much as before. This has led me to gain back 5kg. All my hard work was starting to fade away.
But I couldn’t let that happen. I had to get back on track. I observed my daily routine and I decided to try intermittent fasting. I think with the schedule I have, fasting would be the best way to keep my calories in check. I have been eating a lot of junk food and snacking a lot ever since I moved to Tokyo. But if I restrict my eating hours, I will be able to control it.
For now, I will be doing a 16:8 fast. I will skip breakfast and have my first meal at 12:00. I tried fasting once last year but it didn’t work out. Hope this time it’s better.
