The World Cup so far, the greatest show

It’s been a week since the world cup started and it has already shown why it is the greatest show on earth.
When you think about global sporting events, the first one that comes to mind is the Olympics. The whole world competes for every four years in various sports. Although more countries participate in the Olympics than in the Fifa World Cup, it still seems like a bigger event.
The reason I say that is because everyone seems to come together for this one month of football. From your regular football fan to your seasonal fan. Even non-football fans start taking an interest in the games. If your country is participating it’s even better. But if not you are out there cheering for your favorite players or teams.
In the age of social media, it is more exciting. Everyone is online showing their support for their teams and players. Every conversation has football in it. You don’t see this level of interest in the Olympics.
Finally, the most important thing is the games. The games never disappoint. One week into the World Cup and we already have some amazing games.
