Running during Ramadan

Around a week left for Ramadan. It’s been a great run. Haha. Running has been actually good this Ramadan. Last Ramadan I did only 30km. But this month I managed to do more 75km. On my way to 100km hopefully.
Firstly, no, I haven’t skipped fasting. I have run on all the days I fasted. But last year I couldn’t do that. I was in the same job, in the same city but I didn’t manage to do the same runs. So what’s changed.
The first thing about last year was I just moved to the city. Started a new job. There were a lot of adjustments to deal with. I moved after more than 5 years in Beppu. So that adjustment took a toll on me. I couldn’t build a routine. But this year I was in better shape. I already had my routine set. I have been in this city and job for more than a year and everything was easier.
The second thing was my consistency with running. I have been running consistently since 2020. Every run I get better and it has become a staple in my daily routine. Even though I was fasting, my body needed the daily run. I was also smart with planning. I planned my runs to be after work. It was a tough change because I would have to eat my iftar after my run. After a week I adjusted well and it has been going well.
Today was another great day of running. I split my runs into two. One before iftar and another after iftar. I also had my swimming practice. Overall a great way to end the weekend.
