The benefits of being a minimalist when moving cities
I have hinted about my potential move in the past few blogs. I am finally moving cities in 3 days. I will be moving to Tokyo. Every time I have to move cities or houses I am thankful for the fact that I am a minimalist. Being a minimalist takes a lot of the hassle away.
Firstly, I don’t own many clothes. I only own my essentials. All of my clothes can easily fit in one suitcase except the big winter jackets. That is something that has helped me a lot during a transition period. There’s no problem with owning a lot of clothes, as long as they bring value to your life.
Secondly, I don’t hold on to things. I see a lot of people try to hold on to things they might use someday. That someday never comes. For that reason, it’s better to let go of those things. Thanks to this I have an easy time packing my things up. If it isn’t going to be used today, I throw it away or pass it on.
Finally, if you are a minimalist you are really good at organizing things. When you move houses or cities, organizing or planning is really important. This will help the transition become smooth and easy.
My expertise in moving houses isn’t only thanks to minimalism. It’s also because I have done it so many times. I have gotten used to it and I know what things I can do to optimize the whole process.
