Living off a suitcase

It’s been almost a week since I moved to Tokyo. I have talked about the changes I have dealt with in the past few days. But one thing I also wanted to talk about is how being a minimalist has helped me.
I am moving into my own house next month but for the time being, I am staying over at my friend’s place. Since my friend lives alone the apartment is small. it’s good enough for 1 person. But he was nice enough to let me stay for 3 weeks. Since it’s a small place I really had to be intentional with the things I brought with me. I packed only a suitcase but thanks to being a minimalist that suitcase was enough. Except for my suit or big winter jackets, most of my clothes fit in one standardly sized suitcase. This is really convenient for me when I move houses. It again helped me this time.
My minimalist mindset also helped me when I was selecting what things to keep with me for the 3 weeks. I had things I thought I would need but I kept in mind the timeline. If I didn’t need it every day I wouldn’t need it for 3 weeks. So I simplified the things I packed. It really helped me transition smoothly. I also don’t mind sharing the small space with my friend. It’s not perfect but it serves the purpose.
