Knowing when to switch off

As you already know from my previous blog posts, I started a new job. I also talked about the transition. I don’t want to talk about that again. But I do want to talk about the art of switching off.
Ever since I joined the new job, I have been excited and up for it. I get into the office every single day ready to my best. Not because I am pressured to, but because I genuinely enjoy the work. But one thing I need to keep in mind for the long run is the art of switching off.
Currently, my brain is always switched on regarding my work life. I am doing this intentionally. I want to get accustomed to the work so that the next few months of the job get easier. I am enjoying this urgency I have towards my work. But I also believe this isn’t a good way to sustain things for the long run. I do need to adjust and start switching off my brain when I am not at work. That will in return help me establish a good work-life balance. I think a lot of people struggle with this, but if you are intentional and clear about your goals, you will be able to take control of the situation.
So, if you are someone who has a hard time switching off from work, then take a step back. Get some rest. Re-evaluate your goals and interests and try to take the right step forward.
