How I improved my resting BPM from 90 to 55

Story of progress.

I started running in 2020. My resting BPM was around 90. For a 25 year old that was alarming. It wasn’t the best at rest and it used to increase rapidly as soon as I did some activity. I had to do something.
The first thing I had to fix was my diet. Specifically my addiction to sugar. I worked on that in 2019. But the next step was to work on my heart. I did some research and the best way was to do cardio. Cardio was the best way to keep our hearts healthy and strong. So I started slow and steady in 2020. In the beginning, it was so difficult. As soon as I started running my bpm used to rise up over 200. It was alarming. But I kept going and kept faith in the process.

Now two years later my resting BPM is around the mid-50s. Generally, a lower resting heart rate is associated with higher cardiovascular fitness. I want to keep going and make it better. But it is amazing to see the impact that 2 years of hard work and discipline can have.
