Getting over a bad month

I know. I know. The last few blogs have been very negative. But I don’t want to be fake. I do want to share the reality through my blogs.
The last two months haven’t been the best for me. In terms of my personal goals, I have really fallen off the pace. I haven’t been making videos, I haven’t run properly and I also haven’t been able to read much. I haven’t made much progress toward the yearly goals I set. For the first seven months, I was on track. But the last two have been very difficult. It’s hard to pinpoint one single reason for it. Multiple things have happened. But I don’t want to make this blog full of excuses. I want to talk about change. I want to talk about how to get over a bad month.
The first step is not to be too hard on yourself. If you start thinking negatively, you will spiral into a cycle of negativity. It’s important to give yourself room to make mistakes. As I started having these bad few weeks I reminded myself how great I was in the first seven months. This is a tough period and it too shall pass.
The second thing you can do is look at why things are the way they are. Is it because of something that you could control or they were out of your control? This is very important to figure out. In my case, it was a mixture of both. This is why I didn’t blame myself much. I did have my reasons and acknowledged my shortcomings.
The third step is to start rebuilding. Take small steps. Build up the momentum. Slowly you will turn things around. As long as you are clear on your goals, as long as you take a small step each day, you will get there.
