Casey Neistat Vlog 014

This week has been tough. I have been busy with some stuff. I will talk about it soon. But that has made it hard for me to think about topics for a blog post. Thankfully I have Casey Vlogs to write about. We are at Vlog 014. This was is special because I have watched this multiple times. Love this.
The vlog starts with his usual cold opening. Random shot from his day. After that, we have his timelapse. But then he breaks his usual pattern. No close-up shot. We have a vlog shot. A bit about his day and finally going to the office. Today was Tuesday so it’s time for his Q/A session. I love the intro for Q/A.
The Q/A in this episode is great. He talks about a lot of good stuff. Especially his definition of motivation. What keeps him motivated? I was asked this question recently. It was hard for me to explain because it’s similar to what Casey says here. For me too, motivation has never been the problem, I am motivated by the progress. He also gives a good answer to why he is focusing on Youtube. He talks about defining the new cliches, and after 7 years of the vlog we can definitely say he has.
After the Q/A he goes back to his usual day. But then something happens. A part of the video that should have had a disclaimer for tech video lovers. He receives his new MacBook pro and he massacres the unboxing. He rips the box apart and scratches his MacBook. But then he is happy holding it in front of the camera. I remember how he talks about the way he uses tools. They are just to fulfill a specific task. He doesn’t care about how rough he is with them. That’s his way.
