First day in the concrete jungle
Today I finally moved to Tokyo. I said goodbye to Toyohashi, my home for more than a year. Even though I lived there only for a year I made so many memories. It will always be a special chapter in my life.
From the countryside or small town of Toyohashi, I moved into the concrete jungle of Tokyo. I have been avoiding Tokyo for a long time. I don’t think it fits me as a person. But circumstances in my life have lead me to Tokyo. I am not complaining, Tokyo is a great city with lots of opportunities. But it will take some time for me to adjust.
The first thing I need to adjust is to accept the fact that I now live in a concrete jungle. Tall buildings everywhere and no open fields or mountains in sight. I had gotten used to seeing the mountains, the farm fields, and the beautiful sea. I loved my runs in Toyohashi. But today while running Tokyo it just didn’t feel the same. I didn’t particularly enjoy it.
But there was one good thing, I saw a lot of runners compared to Toyohashi. Maybe I can go on group runs and join a group here. That would be a great way to socialize. Whatever I decide to do, I have to call this concrete jungle my home for the next few years.
