You have to set yourself up for luck

Today I was talking with a junior of mine who will be graduating next year. One year before graduation is kind of a vital moment. You are entering a new phase of life and time seems to be running out. The faster you figure things out the quicker you can get started.
As we were talking, I was telling him how important it is to figure out what you want to do in the future. I told him that some people are lucky and figure it out early while the majority take their time. I told him to take his time but to put an active effort into finding out what he wants to do in the future.
While reflecting back on that conversation I was also thinking about how we need to set ourselves up for luck. In this journey of life, luck is highly important. We all need luck. But the problem is most of us don’t set ourselves up for luck. We wait for luck to come to us. But luck only strikes when we are making an active effort and are aiming to go somewhere. If you don’t do that no amount of luck can change our situation.
So I hope if you are reading this and you are at such a phase in life, figuring things out. Keep in mind that things take time, will take time. But you need to put an effort to live life, instead of just existing. When you start living, luck will come beside you.
