Editors are the uncrowned kings

Hello again. A bit late but not missing a day.
I was sick the whole week but finally feeling better. Since I was better I got back to editing and did a bit more study on filmmaking and editing.
Every time I study how films are created I always end up increasing my respect for editors. Being an editor myself, I know how much work it takes to be one. But being just a video editor is nothing compared to what movie editors do. The movie happens in the edit and the editors bring the whole months of the shoot together. Everything is done and the final step is in the hands of the editor and the guidance of the director.
A lot of directors have the same editor for most of their movies because it’s an important relationship. But editors don’t get half the credit from the audience. They do get it from the professionals but the audience mostly doesn’t know the editors.
But I don’t think the editors care about this aspect. All they just want to do is edit. Just like me. I am sitting here editing this Youtube video to the max just for my own satisfaction. It will probably get a few hundred views but doesn’t matter. I will still enjoy looking back and seeing the cuts I made. That’s a wrap.
