Why your search for motivation never ends?

I am back with another lazy entry to the blog. But it’s better to enter a few words than to miss a day.
If you don’t know already, I try to promote exercising and a healthy lifestyle through my Instagram. Every time I exercise I put a poll up on my story asking others if they have exercised today or not. Spoiler alert, the No always wins over the Yeses. That’s not a surprise to me. One other thing which isn’t a surprise for me is common excuses. One of the common excuses is a lack of motivation.
Most of the people I talked to who are interested in exercise complain about a lack of motivation. These same people lack motivation in other aspects of their life. But here’s why their search for motivation never ends.
Most people including me in the past, misinterpret the function of motivation. Motivation isn’t something that gets you started to do something, motivation is something that helps you sustain the flow. For example, if you are trying to light a fire, just pouring kerosene won’t help. You need a spark to ignite the fire. The kerosene helps keep the fire burning. The kerosene here is motivation. No matter how much motivation you seek, it won’t ever help you get started. You actually need to get up and get the start the work. Ignite the fire and then motivation will help sustain.
But who am I to say this? I am no expert. I am just a sleepy guy completing his blog at midnight on Monday.
