Vlog 002 starts off with a shot that normally hooks in the viewer. Casey is at St. Barths standing near a bridge when a plane passes by very closely. Interesting enough for the viewer to keep on watching because this shot lasts only 17 seconds.
For the next 20 seconds, you see some clips of the area which are edited to the beat of the song. Something Casey always does.
The next 30 seconds is a talking head shot. In this shot, the camera is on a tripod as he gives a brief about how he wants to structure these vlogs. He doesn't want them to look professional. As I said in the previous blog, he wants them to have an amateur feel. He wants to make the production process resistance-free so that he can produce every single day.
The next 6 minutes of the vlog show why this is Casey’s 2nd daily vlog. You notice that this vlog is not as well planned as his future vlogs. He is still trying to figure out the style he wants to go for. The title talks about the jump off the cliff but that comes later in the vlog. He also talks about his MacBook not working then going to buy a mouse to find the problem. If Casey made this vlog now he would probably spin the MacBook not working story around his whole day. But this vlogs story was kind of all over the place. He also used one single music track throughout the video. I personally enjoyed the cliff jump clips and the ending time-lapses.
Can’t wait to see how the vlogs evolve!
