United’s struggles continue
I can’t believe I am writing about struggles, two blogs in a row. But today’s one is about United’s struggle on the field.
Ever since Erik Ten Haag joined, there have been a lot of changes. Most of them are positive. Usually when a new manager comes in it takes time to see them take the authority. But with Erik, it’s been since day one. For this reason, I have been quite optimistic about his tenure.
Things were going really well after the initial hiccup. We had a run of four straight wins. But then some games got canceled which shifted the momentum. Then came the derby demolition. I think that game really pushed back all the progress we made. The belief of the players seemed quite nonexistent. The effects of that game were felt against Omonia Nicosia.
We were clear favorites to win the game. We did. Eventually. But it wasn’t a great performance. The players are still lacking confidence. They are supposed to dominate games like these. But we are struggling to find the rhythm. Everything is kind of on and off.
The biggest positive was the win. This will hopefully slowly build the confidence of the team and we will be able to get a good result at the end of the season.
