The hike that wasn’t supposed to happen

On Thursday’s blog, I talked about how I was gutted that my Tokyo trip was canceled. And it’s true I was. But I always remember one thing my mum always says when something bad happens. Translated from Bangla it goes like, “everything happens for a reason”. I believe this is a common quote but I will credit it to my Mum.

Anyways back to the point. After my trip was canceled I had to plan something else for the weekend. I had planned this hike to Mt Hongu for the weekend of the 29th. But I brought it forward due to the cancelation. And guess what? Today was arguably the best weather to hike and the predicted weather for next weekend is cloudy.
This was my first time hiking this mountain in between Toyokawa and Shinshiro. It’s a beautiful mountain to hike. Good for beginners too but not an easy hike. It took me around 3 and half hours to complete the hike. I did stay there longer because I flew my drone and enjoyed some snacks while at the top. But as I was sitting there and enjoying the sun, I was thankful that I got to do my hike today. The only reason the hike happened is that my trip got canceled.
So as my mum said, everything happens for a reason. When one door closes, another opens. And that door lead me to this hike that wasn’t supposed to happen.
