The freedom of a routine
I had a four-day break from work. I wasn’t expecting it. So I didn’t plan much. I also ended up falling sick. So even if I wanted to I couldn’t plan much. I was mostly at home watching Netflix. I am not complaining. It does seem like a great way to spend time. But this break did remind me of great it is to have a routine.
When I go to work 5 days a week, I have a specific routine. I wake up at the same time and go to bed at the same time. I know what will happen in between that time. I know what expectations to have and I mostly enjoy going through my day. Knowing how my day is planned helps me go through my day.
But for the last 3 days, I had no particular routine. I didn’t plan anything. I just let the day pass by me. Which was fine for the past 3 days but I couldn’t continue like this day after day.
Routines and habits are important for any human being. We all have routines that we follow every single day. Some of us do it consciously while others don’t. If you can build a routine by yourself, you will start enjoying your days a lot more.
