I am back again with a late entry and a short entry this time. How do you scare a novice writer? Show them a blank piece of paper.
THat’s what I am dealing with today. Instead of a blank piece of paper, I am staring at a blank screen. Well, not blank anymore. Take that! Who am I talking to?
It’s hard for any beginner writer to build up a habit of writing. It’s also tough to come up with ideas. But there are systems that help you find your own ideas and also remix old ideas. But some days the idea isn’t the problem. Somedays its more about getting the words out a piece of paper. I have ideas on most days but when i sit in front of the paper the ideas feel like a mess. Maybe I am doubting myself but the sheet tells me your ideas suck. Quit now.
But everyday I reply to that sheet, ‘‘Not today’’ I keep defeating the paper every single day. It hasn’t been easy. The posts haven’t been good but in a few months or years this blog will have one good blog post. And when that blog post arrives I will link it back to this post. Why? Because then this entry will finally fulfill its purpose.
