The art of waking up early
The benefits of waking up are plenty. Most of us know about this. But even then a lot of us fail to adopt the routine of waking up early.
In my last job, my routine was a bit different. I used to work from the afternoon till 9 pm. So my mornings were pretty free but I ended up sleeping too late at night. My usual bedtimes were 12-2 am. Not a great time to go to bed. It also impacted the time I had dinner. But that was a routine I got used and I was waiting for the day I changed to a regular routine.
Finally at my current job I switched to regular routine. I work the usual 9-5 and I finally had the chance to wake up early. I started by trying to create a routine of waking up at 6 am. Even though my working hours allowed me to wake up around 7 am, I decided to fix a routine of waking up a bit earlier. The first few days were difficult but finally, I have been able to adjust to the routine. One difficult part of the routine was to tell my body to go to bed by 11 pm. Since it was used to sleeping late, this needed some adjustment too.
It’s been only 7 days since I made the change and I can already see the benefits. I feel much more energized throughout the day and can have meals at the proper times. I think I can build a better diet around this schedule. I also have the chance to have the earliest hours of the day to myself. Those are very vital to set the tone for your day.
I can’t wait to reap the benefits of waking up early. It’s a great habit to have. If you are struggling to build a routine, you might want to look at your overall routine. You need to evaluate your routine for a week and after that, you can find the things to improve on. So my suggestion would be to just observe and then take action.
