Running after a day break

After running for 225 days in a row I took a break yesterday. It felt really weird. I wanted to go out and run. I didn’t want to skip. But I am glad I did.
Today finally I had the opportunity to run again. I say finally as if I waited a whole month or year. It was just a day. But I felt so relieved. You should always listen to the needs of your body. I always do. I didn’t skip before because my body wanted to continue. Last few days it didn’t so I finally took a break.
Back to today’s run. It was quite good. It showed how much I needed the break. I did only 2km but it was a really good run. I enjoyed it. I didn’t feel like I was dragging myself through the run. I could have run longer but this is kind of a new start, so taking things slow.
I am writing this blog just to share that rest is important. Sometimes you might need to force your body to rest. When you are a consistent freak like me, you might not take breaks. But it is important it will have a positive impact in the longer run. I will be running only 4 days a week now compared to every day in the past. I hope I will be able to enjoy my runs more.
