Knowing your limits

The last few days haven’t been the easiest. I just moved into my new place and it’s the 4th week of my new job. There are a lot of things I need to get adjusted to. But also there are things I am trying to stay consistent at. So, it’s been really hard finding that balance. That is why I wanted to talk about the concept of knowing your limits.
When striving towards a goal, you need to keep your limits in mind. At the beginning of the journey, you might do research regarding how to go towards that goal. During that research you will get to know what other people have done. Although that’s a great place to start you also need to keep in mind that we are all different. We have different limits. So we need to set expectations based on our own limits.
For example when I first started running, I did 1 hour runs every single day for the whole month of February. That was certainly not the best thing to do for a first time runner. But I knew my limits and I knew my goals and it worked for me. But whenever someone else asks me for advice, I don’t suggest them what I did. I tell them the basics but then to build there own routine around it. In that way they have more chances to succeed.
Back to the limits. Last few days I have been really testing my limits. Trying to maintain this blog, running everyday and then getting settled in the house, city and job. I should have maybe compromised some things but I have really tried to get everything done. In many cases, it might not have been the best decision. But it certainly has been a learning experience.
