I hope it’s not 2020 again
Hello again. Those 2 words remind me of the time I tried to learn to program back in 2015. But it was hello world for that instance.
My last blog was a bit negative and I didn’t want to stay on that road but sadly this blog will also be a bit negative.
Today was a rather hectic day. It was the only day of the month at my work when I have to work overtime. I headed out around 10 am and was back home around 10 pm. Not crazy hours compared to my previous job. But anyways back to the negative news.
I was really excited about my weekend trip to Tokyo this coming weekend. I haven’t been in Tokyo for months and I had this event I was looking forward to for two months. I was also planning to meet some of my friends in Tokyo. Moreover, I was looking forward to this video I was going to make and also an 8km run from Akihabara to Shibuya. With everything planned and ready to end my week I get the bad news. I get to know that the event I was planning to attend on Saturday got canceled due to the quasi-emergency put on Tokyo and 12 other cities. I was in the middle of work and I had to immediately cancel my bus reservation. All my plans were ruined for another wave of Covid.
As I mentioned in my previous blog post my mum got Covid. I don’t normally stay updated with the Covid news but after the event got canceled I glanced at the updates. What I saw felt like I was back in 2020. The difference is that we have a vaccine and people are more aware of the pandemic. But the uncertainty that we have around the pandemic is still there. While a lot of us thought by the end of 2021 things cooled down, omicron came and took us back months.
As I finish my dinner after a long day, I have only one thought in my head. I hope it’s not 2020 again.
