How running changed my life-Part 1
Although I already made a video about this I love talking about running. I want to continue talking about running. That’s why I will dedicate a few blogs about running.
Today I feel like talking about how running changed my life. There are different aspects of my life that running impacted. Today let’s talk about stamina.
Before I started running I was overweight. I am still overweight, just a few kg left, but there’s a huge difference between overweight me in 2019 and overweight me in 2022. The huge difference is in stamina.
Stamina in terms of the energy I need to get through my day. Pre running I had stamina but it would deplete fast. There were days it was hard for me to get through. Especially during my undergrad days when I used to balance part-time jobs and studies, my health wasn’t in a good place. I struggled with stamina and I dragged myself through my day. Being overweight didn’t help my cause either.
Post running I can say that I hardly have a day where I am out of stamina. Today I went on a morning hike and even after that I had the stamina to go through my day and also go on my 3km run. Even after all that as I sit down to write this blog I am full of stamina. I don’t feel tired or sleepy. I feel energized and happy. 2021 was my first full year of running and I saw the change myself. I hardly had a day where I was exhausted. Since I journal every single day I can look back and reflect on the days.
