Three years since the coronavirus pandemic started. The borders are open. It was time for Shibuya to be packed during Halloween, that is what exactly happened.
I have never been to Shibuya during Halloween. I have seen videos online, but I never experienced it myself. I don’t think last three years there has been a proper Halloween in Shibuya. But this year everything felt back to normal.
I wasn’t planning on going to Shibuya. But I heard this year might be different. So I decided to grab my mask and head out. As soon as I got on the train, I realized it was going to be busy. I went there a bit early around 6 pm.
As soon as I reached there, I heard the noise of the police. The police were supposed to be there from Friday till Sunday. There’s always something crazy going on at Shibuya during Halloween, so the police were ready for that. You were also not allowed to drink at Shibuya during those three days.
After the noise, the next thing I noticed was the number of people. Every corner of the scramble crossing was packed. I could feel the energy of the crowd.
I didn’t stay for long. I walked around in the crowd. Took some pictures. Noticed some interesting costumes. It was starting to get busier, so I decided to head back.
