Getting used to dumbbells
I started going to the gym regularly last year. The focus of my workouts was upper body. I do a lot of running, so my legs get a good workout. But I don’t have enough strength in my arms.
My gym routine was good. I was getting used to it. But after moving to Tokyo my routine had to change again. I didn’t plan to get into a new gym. Because I decided to switch to at home dumbbell workouts. I realized that would help me stay more consistent. I did go to the gym 3-4 times a week but I wanted to up it to 6 days a week. Doing dumbbell workouts might help me with the new routine.
The first day I started doing them it wasn’t the best. I didn’t warm up and I put on more weight than I should have. So my arms hurt badly throughout the week. But today I was back again for Day 2.
Today I did my warm-ups and I used lighter weights. I enjoyed today’s session much more. I think if I make this my routine I will be able to stick to it. Let’s see in a few weeks.
