First camp of the year
Today was the day. Finally. As I said in a blog few days back, camp season is here. Sorry for a nothing blog, but I am happy about being able to camp today.
We went to Kojima beach. It’s around 30 minutes from my house. I didn’t camp here before and it was my first time camping at a beach. The location was great. The weather was beautiful during sunset. Even though I was fasting, I had a great time.
There’s something about being in nature, breathing the fresh air and cooking food on a fire you made. That feeling is different. Maybe because that’s how our ancestors started and some part inside every human feels for that part. I remember this moment today where we were trying to have hot coffee. I ground the beans and was ready to boil the water. But our fire went out. We had to struggle to get the fire started again. At that moment I was thinking, if I was back home I would just use my kettle and I have my coffee. But here there was a struggle. Most people would get irritated by it, but I enjoyed it. It made the coffee that much better. The whole process of building the fire again, boiling the water and then finally having the coffee.
Sadly we couldn’t stay the night. Just as we finished eating and enjoyed the full moon night, it slowly started to drizzle. At first we thought maybe we can just sleep in our cars but that would not serve the purpose of camping. We started to pack up and thank god we did. It start to pour as soon as we packed everything up.
All in all, it was a great day. Can’t wait for the next camp.
