England’s start to the 2022 World Cup

Every world cup it’s supposed to be coming home. But it never does. Every world cup England goes into with a lot of hope. But they never live up to their expectations.
This world cup is no different. England came off a horrible performance in the Nations League. Most people would think this is a negative, but I would say it’s a positive. If they performed well then they would have come into the world cup with more expectations. But since they didn’t things have been calmer than usual.
England has a great squad, no doubt. But they don’t have a great manager. Southgate has done brilliantly with England over the past few years. But he isn’t the best tactician. He isn’t making the best utilization of this squad.
England just had their first game. They thumped Iran 6-2. There’s no easy game in the World Cup. The fact that England won with ease is commendable. The youngsters showed their talent. It was great to see.
It’s just the first game. This England squad has the potential to at least go to the QF. The rest is up to luck.
