Does gear matter?

Today I was on the train. Busy weekend. The train full of people. I was standing by the door and enjoying the rain outside. Then I notice something unusual.
I notice this girl in front of me. Not for the reasons you might be thinking. I see her drawing a character on her phone. Not just any character, a very detailed digital character. She was drawing it on her iPhone using her fingers, with no pen or big tablet. She kept on detailing this character while standing on the train.
This got me thinking. I know a lot of people who want to do a lot of creative things online. They want to start their photography career or a YouTube channel or start drawing. The majority of them talk about how they don’t have the proper gear now. They are waiting for the day can get the latest tablet or laptop. They are waiting to start when things are perfect. Most of them realize that the gear they are waiting for won’t instantly make them a great creative. They will assist you in the long run but in the beginning, you have to just start.
Think about this girl on the train. She could have given the excuse of not having the latest digital tablet. She would have never started if she thought that way. But instead of that, she was drawing on her iPhone while standing on the train.
You might have big ideas, and big plans but they are nothing without execution. You need to start doing the work. Start now.
