Vlog 34. Let’s start.
This vlog also begins with his usual random shot in the city. This also ends up being his thumbnail.
He then has the usual timelapse intro followed by the close-up shot. He talks about the mistake he made in previous vlogs while labeling them. He has a 10% rate of misnaming the vlogs. He has a morning run. But doesn’t record the run.
He is back at the studio. He plays the let’s talk business segment intro. I love that intro. Then he talks about his HBO show. He had made videos with his brother in the past. With the investment from Tom they managed to make the Neistat brothers show. HBO was interested in buying and it got sold. Casey finally saw some success and money. But then he calls this his biggest success and failure. Because it took HBO two years to air the show and Casey did nothing those two years.
After the show aired nothing changed. Nothing happened. He realized that you never make it in life. The journey is the destination. You always have to keep moving. That is why at that time in his career he was starting a new company. He didn’t need to. But he was getting comfortable with life. He never wants to repeat the same mistake.
This vlog was very insightful. I also loved the change of angles of the camera while he told his story.SOmething to think about when you are making videos.
