I had a great weekend. Since I didn’t get time to think about a blog for today, we are back with a Casey vlog. Vlog number 12!
This vlog starts out similar to other ones. Random shot from the city. Then his usual Timelapse intro. Reminds me of how TV shows use cold openings. These small city snippets are Casey’s cold openings. Interesting!
After the Timelapse is a closeup shot. As we know these are important shots. But one thing we may have noticed is that he is building a pattern now. He has this close up shot right after the cold opens just to build a rhythm and a pattern that the viewers can get used to it. After that he has some shots of him going to the gym, in the gym and coming out of the gym. The cold open on this episode talks about the gym and here he is at the gym. There’s a nice flow and you can see in the edits how he connects them.
He is then back at the office. He talks at the beginning of the vlog about why he goes to office on Sundays. This also connects. Some shots of him getting into the office, being in the office and then coming out with his bike.
He goes around NY to his favorite spots to take Timelapses. He uses some shots with Gopro while others with his point and shoot. Then he shoots the Timelapse. Lot of shots here. The dedication is unmatched. He then goes to some other spots and shoots a bunch of timelapses and actual shows how every time he takes 3 timelapses. He also answers that he has never had his camera stolen although he keeps them at the spot for some amount of time.
Finally he rides an electric skateboard. Not his own one, but some kids. Maybe this is the origin story of the electric skateboard? He ends it with a vlog shot and his usual Timelapse. This one was fun!
