Casey Neistat Vlog 004

I forgot that I planned to write a blog post about every vlog made by Casey Neistat on his vlog series. We are back after a break and today we look at vlog 004.
This vlog is still on their vacation at ST. Barths. The first shot is at the beach. Then he has the title of the vlog and the usual timelapse. This timelapse becomes a usual feature in the vlog. Every time there is the title, there is a timelapse.
The next 30 seconds is a close-up shot. Whenever there’s a close-up shot in a Casey vlog it means it's something important. He talks about the mistakes he has made so far in the first three vlogs. Minor mistakes but he is learning through making the vlogs. That’s important. That’s what we all should be aiming for.
The next few shots are from his day with his family. They are not that well-sequenced like we see in future vlogs. Looks more like a family movie. But then the climax is after minute 2 where he talks about losing the GoPro, which is the title of the video. He finally retrieves the GoPro. It reminds me of the time I almost lost my Insta 360 Go 2. It’s a much smaller device. The water at the beach was not as clear as the beach Casey is at. I lost grip of the Go 2 and it fell right down. There was no chance of me retrieving it. My friends who knew how to swim dove deep in the water but couldn’t see anything. Then luckily as I was searching for it with my hands, not even looking, I grab hold of something. And it is my Go 2. I wish I had recorded the incident just like Casey did it.
The rest of the vlog seems kind of disjointed. Not a lot of things to notice. But then at the end, you realize why it is the way it is. He lost footage. He deleted it by mistake. Now I understand the vlog. Let’s see how vlog 005 is.
