Best start to Manchester United’s 2022 EPL Season

The expectation is the thief of joy. You set the wrong expectations you get disappointed. Every manager before Erik who came after Sir Alex set the wrong expectations. Every new manager came in and had a good start. They set the wrong expectations and things went downhill.
But not Erik. Erik is different. He has been different in his approach to Manchester United. I like a lot of the things he is doing. But today has to be the highlight. He comes in for his first game at Old Trafford. A crowd full of expectations. A chance at redemption against Brighton. He could have gone in and won it. But he decides to lose. Why?
He is setting the right expectations. If he came in and won this game, people would have started to get their hopes up. They would have started planning his rise to the top 4. But instead, he lost. Losing shows what to expect of United this season. It’s true that Erik is doing a lot of good things. But good things take time. Erik needs time too. This loss helps him get some time. People now know what the climb is capable.
I hope we lose a few more matches and then things settle down.
