Benefits of going to the office

Ever since the pandemic working from home has slowly become a normal thing. It’s more common to have a hybrid or full remote working environment than one that requires you to go to the office. But, I personally prefer going to the office. Here’s why.
Firstly, it really depends on the job. If your job efficiency doesn’t change depending on where you work then it’s completely fine. But for me going to the office increases my efficiency tenfold. Collaboration is a big part of my job and just being around people makes everything faster.
Secondly, going to the office is great for your physical health unless you are someone who is active outside of work. A lot of people don’t take the time to workout or stay active. For them, the commute to work or the mobility at work is the only time they are active. If you take that away then it’s not good for the body. You have to create a routine in your work-from-home life to stay active. This is difficult to build. When you go to office you naturally get more movement. Even if you are always sitting at your job, in the office you do tend to walk around more. But when working from home you have everything at your disposal. You will hardly move.
Lastly, it’s nice to have a separation between work and home. I know for a lot of people work is their life, which is completely fine. While I enjoy my work, I do want it to have its own place. When I come home I want to be able to switch off. But if you are working from home, it’s hard to do that.
I know working from home has a lot of benefits too. I hope you choose the one that fits you best.
