Being happy in others’ happiness

The search for happiness. Everyone is on this search. But although there is a whole world of people searching for it, no one has found it easy. In my opinion, finding happiness can be easy. After going through tons of trial and error it can be easy.
But one thing that’s sure to get you happiness, is being happy in others’ happiness. This is one of those secret formulas—those easy hacks. If you can learn to be happy for others, happiness will reciprocate.
Let’s pause a little bit. Let’s talk about the opposite of happiness. Maybe it’s sadness or frustration. One of the main thing that gives us sadness is comparison. You might be the happiest getting your new phone until you see someone with the latest model. You might be the happiest with your raise until you see someone getting a bigger job. Whenever we get into the habit of comparison, we spiral into sadness, frustration, and anger.
Now take those situations and turn them around. Instead of comparing, be happy for them. Be happy for those people doing good in their life. You don’t need to compare yourself to them. Everyone is on their own separate journey. Instead of spiraling into frustration and anger, we can share some good energy. And trust me it will come back.
So next time you are struggling with your own happiness, try to be happy for someone else. Maybe right after you read this blog, congratulate that friend. See where it takes you.
