6 months of recruitment

It’s been six months since I made my first significant career change. Six months since I moved to Tokyo. A lot has happened and it’s nice to take some time and reflect.
Joining TEKsystems and starting a career in recruitment had some luck to it. Some things just fell into place. But I wasn’t sure if this was the right career move for me. But after six great months, I can say that it has been one of the best decisions.
Recruitment or sales is not an easy career. You always have to stay active. You always have to be switched on. Especially in a recruitment sale environment, a lot of things are not in your control. It’s a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Not everyone is meant to thrive in such an environment. But I felt comfortable in that environment right away. I don’t enjoy things not moving. But in this job, I can control how and when things move.
Over the past six months, I have had to learn a lot of new things. But I have also been able to incorporate a lot of the things from my past into my correct jobs. Certain habits or routines I picked up before have helped me a lot. Finding a good operational rhythm is immense. My work on self-development and consistency helped me build that rhythm easier.
I am still new to this career path. I don’t know what the future holds. It is certainly not perfect. There are things I do want to think about. But when I look back on the past six months I mostly see positive. I see growth. I see a future that might be building.
